The City of Atlanta Advances Marijuana Decriminalization
The city of Atlanta is finally listening to its citizens with the advancement of a marijuana decriminalization law. This past Tuesday, the city councils public safety committee approved the new bill and it will head to full city council.

The law would only apply within the city limits of Atlanta, GA. It would not make weed legal in Atlanta, but its possession would only carry a maximum $75 fine with no jail time, under the proposed ordinance. This is such a big advancement for the city of Atlanta and its current laws that are already contradictory to the medicinally proven and necessary God given plant.
Marijuana Advancement in Atlanta, GA
I think GA needs a new Governor, move over Deal. “Court costs, the jail time, ruining young peoples lives, they lose their scholarships, it breaks up families, and it wastes our tax dollars. That’s the reason for doing this,” said Kwanza Hall, a city councilman and candidate for mayor. – pulled from 11alive article.
This model follows the city of Clarkston in DeKalb county that recently passed a similar ordinance a little of a year ago. With more than half of the United States passing or decriminalizing cannabis, it is about time Atlanta took strides to do the same. Thank you Mayor Candidate Kwanaza Hall for your support!
New Updates: On Monday 10/2/2017 – The Atlanta City Full Council voted to unanimously pass the New Atlanta Marijuana Bill. Mayor Kasim Reed now has to either sign or veto the bill. He has to make that decision today, by Today 10/10/2017!
